Action needed Immediatly.... BAN LIVE EXPORT

on Monday, May 30, 2011

After witnessing the horrendous treatment of Australian cattle in Indonesia, I am appalled that this cruelty has been allowed to continue for so long. (Check out http://www.theage.com.au/environment/animals/shocking-slaughterhouse-abuse-sparks-investigation-20110530-1fd06.html)

While the live export industry turns a blind eye to animal cruelty, the distressing images of animals being brutalised in importing countries are beamed into the living rooms of the Australian public with every new investigation. How many more times must we bare witness to such horror before the government intervenes?
The animal abuse documented in these investigations would never be permitted on Australian soil, yet for decades the industry has continued to send live animals to countries regardless of the cruelty that likely awaits them.

Time and time again, the live export industry has proven that it cannot be trusted to uphold animal welfare or be honest with the Australian public.

Decisive action is long overdue. Please act to protect Australian animals from further brutality by ending this cruel trade once and for all.
